About

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky

A bounch of people. Similar jobs, different ages, different lifestage, different provennance.

We all faced the same challenge: we all had to decide if going away or staying.
We all, for one reason or another, decided to leave. To see what was behind the door, what was beyond the bridge, or maybe to avoid seeing what was remaining there....

In this blog we want to share the experience of our new life in the Netherlands, our hopes and fears.
What we like about the Netherlands, and what we don't like about it.
What we learned being here, and what we still have to learn.
What we miss about our originary country, and what we don't miss about it.
We will share tips and infos that we discovered on our way to integrate to the Dutch system and culture.

In these pages you will read different voices, several people with different moods and points of view. Because life and world are complex, and one single point of view it's never enough to understand.

You will read about the youngsters sharing their house with their mates, you will read about mums dealing with dutch and international schools. You will read about people commuting during the weekend, and about young couples discovering together the Netherlands.

We work in Rotterdam, and we live around Rotterdam, Den Haag, Amsterdam.
Our stories will talk about the three cities.

Hope you will enjoy!
